It's that time again!
***
Yowza – it’s been some time, eh?
The biggest news for the guild, of course, is that we’re now Level 10! It was a rough uphill climb from level 9 to 10 for us, but we did it. Everyone, give yourselves a pat on the back!
A couple items of interest, one related to guild-leveling, one not.
June has a handful of alts in the guild, specifically to help with guild-leveling. They were admitted with certain restrictions, mainly pertaining to bank tab access and promotions. They are still RP characters, however, so be sure to chat them up when you can.
The other item: We recently had a member hacked. Fortunately, the toon and its belongings were restored. Please let Kiraleen or Naunet know as soon as possible if this happens to you! (Despite some misgivings, the Authenticator is totally worth it, folks.)
The holiday craziness is upon us! I’d like to do a guild event for Winter Veil. And, taking a page from Twinflame’s “Character Birthdays” thread, have a birthday party for Kiraleen on December 6th. Other RP plans include another fishing expedition, and possibly a cooking day as well. With 4.3 around the corner, an IC trip to check out Darkmoon’s new home will probably go up on the calendar as well. Suggestions for RP events are always welcome!
With 4.3, there’s also Transmogrification. I’d like to do transmog runs of old instances and raids. I’m willing not only to set things up for our characters, but alts as well.
Speaking of alts, one thing that occurred to me is a Training Day – getting tips and pointers from people whose mains are the same class as your alt. For example, if you have a baby prot warrior, having Naunet coach you. Let me know if there’s interest in this!
The Outriders are continuing to be involved in the Fourth War. Check the RP Sanctum for threads.
That’s all for now. Ride hard!
Kiraleen, Field Marshal (and Den Mother) -
Greetings, everyone!
These posts will keep members updated on The Outriders' current guild achievements, level progression, upcoming events, spur-of-the-moment RP/PvP/PvE ideas, and so forth. Mentions of individual members may also be included.
Onward!
As of today, we're 19% of the way to level 5.
Our Critter Kill Squad count is at 23469.
The bank is too crowded. The Field Marshal is anxiously awaiting the First Garage Sale of Spring, so she can plan its Azerothian equivalent.
The Indelibles are interested in playing at Twin Spires! Details are being hammered out.
The first full week in April (April 4-10th) is RP in Undercity Week. Grab a guildie and truck on over! Or go solo if you must.
Kiraleen wants to do Guild Dungeon Achievements on the 2nd, 11 pm server.
Guild members are encouraged (begged, pleaded with ) to ask Kiraleen to cut gems for them. There is no charge and no need to tip.
Efnesien wants to learn how to warlock and is looking for WoW-based blogs as resources. If you have links, post them, please!
Noblegarden begins April 24th and ends May 1st.
Another Great Character Swap is being proposed on the RP Sanctum. The first was a lot of fun, and I encourage folks to sign up.
That's all for this week. Ride hard, Outriders!

We've had a recent influx of applications, so I wanted to send out a warm welcome to all of our newest members. :) I hope we can provide a great home for your characters and yourself!
Be on the look out for upcoming events that are in the works! And don't be shy to put forward your own ideas.

((I hope everyone is enjoying exploring the newly sundered Azeroth! Check out our guild RP forum for a thread dealing with the immediate aftermath of Deathwing's rampage. Also, keep an eye out for planned events in the near future.))
Much has changed - for better or for worse - and the Outriders must adapt and regroup to face the new challenges of our times. Remember what Thrall is fighting for and stay on your toes, for the political climate of the Horde is shifting. Stay safe and ride with honor, Outriders!

The latest update to Wowstead has fixed our earlier issue with the guild application. You can find our recruitment post and a link to the app by clicking on "Ride with us!" in the navigation panel above.
Join the Outriders and join in our fight for peace!

As you may have seen, the recent move that Wowstead underwent has broken our guild app. I will be working on getting it up and running, but you can still apply to join us! For now, please contact either Kiraleen or Naunet in-game (or if you wish to speak Alliance-side, you can get in touch with Daphni, Kiraleen's alt) and we can discuss your character and potentially set up an interview.
This should only be a temporary solutions, as hopefully I will have our actual application up and running soon!
Thank you for your patience. :)
[EDIT] A response to my support ticket has informed me that this broken app thing is apparently a "known bug" and is "scheduled to be fixed". No ETA though, so blergh! We'll keep sending out applications via e-mail upon request - please contact us in-game.

Thanks to Kira for pointing this out. It's always been a favorite of mine, but for some reason the connection never really quite clicked.
I present to you "Brothers In Arms" by Dire Straits.
"Now the sun's gone to hell,
And the moon's riding high.
Let me bid you farewell,
Every man has to die,
But it's written in the starlight,
And every line on your palm,
We're fools to make war
On our brothers in arms." -
The Outriders are accepting new applications! Do you possess a strong sense of honor and yearn to fight to protect it? Do you love participating in world defense, whether it's to pass along a call for help or to actively aid someone in need? Are you looking for a close-knit guild with strong RP and lots of fun?
If so, we would love to hear from you! Please tell us more about your character by filling out our application and we will contact you either via e-mail or in game. -
I am posting this here to ensure that everyone in Outriders is aware.
The /horde channel has had numerous problems with griefers taking over the channel and banning everyone. Things have settled down for now, but people over on the Ravenholdt forums have pointed out that it would be most productive to try to get Blizzard's attention. There has been much discussion on mods and such, but if we can get Blizzard to revamp their chat systems, that would be even better! So, I am encouraging everyone here to check out this forum post created by Memorpigeh on the WoW forums.
Let's try to solve this at the source! Even if you just post a /signed, it can help.
My RAM thanks you. <3

Fight for the Horde, Ride with the Outriders
“Honor, comrade: life and unlife is about honor. Whether it is when you have your sword at the throat of a draenei fallen in the sand of Tanaris or when an axe has been brought to your neck by a dwarf in Alterac, your existence revolves around honor. Do you cry at death? Do you scream, do you beg, do you insult? Never. You are not a dog whining for mercy. You are an honorable Outrider. When your enemy is laid low to your feet, you do not spit, you do not abuse, you do not make his death messy or long. You kill him fast and clean and you wipe your blade of his blood.
Know that if you take up the mark of the Outrider you will not simply gain courage or strength. You will fight for it, and you will undoubtedly bleed for it. You will find it in the moments where you are victorious just as often as you will discover it in the times you are gasping for breath, fighting a losing battle, dying on the frontlines.
When we, the Outriders, approach Alliance or Scourge and attempt to persuade them to our side, understand that here honor emerges differently. Your words, comrade, are as important as your actions. Hotly passionate speeches towards humans or death knights, demanding they lay down their arms or face death, will fix nothing. Yet conversations, discussions, these can change almost any man.
If this diplomacy… fails, realize we will not merely back away, defeated. We will crush our opponents - those that do not wish to be
peaceful and those that wish to hurt the Horde. There will be violence for those that only seek violence, regardless of their faction or their leader. We are not afraid to kill.
If you are honorable, recruit, you will find camaraderie in the unit. Outriders will fight for you and beside you, and they will die for you. The stronger you become, the more you will find that we value you as a member of the Horde, a comrade in arms, and a dear friend worthy of almost anything.
And, if you are most honorable, Outrider, you will receive kittens.
Now salute the Horde! You are dismissed!”--------------------------------------
What you can find in the Outriders:
• Cross-faction RP/peace accord with a prominent Alliance RP guild
• Emphasis on reputation grinding
• Focus on mounts (particularly at level 30, 60, 70)
• IC guild chat and OOC private channel
• Rated R by Warchief Thrall for cussing and mature subjects; if you are not old or mature enough, please do not apply for your own sake
• Accepting any class or race (death knights accepted after promise to the Horde)
• Optional ceremonies/parties for gaining mounts or other accomplishments
• We are known to dance and give black market cats for good deeds done.Aspirations include:
• White Kitten Squad
• Talbuk Defensive Unit (all 70+s have talbuks, making a talbuk army)
• Escort lowbies to Alliance lands (with an emphasis on hunters for special pets)
• Group holiday runs (summer festival, Halloween, elders, etc)
• In-character battleground sessions
• WorldDefense watchWe are neither a raiding guild nor a PVP guild: we are an RPPVP guild with high aspirations. There is not an emphasis on leveling fast though obviously members can do so if they wish. Anyone may join the Outriders regardless of their level, class, or spec. You can roll a new character to join the guild as long as you plan on being active. We do accept freshly rolled death knights, but know there is a required “promise to the Horde” ceremony for the new heroic class.
If you would like to join the Outriders, click [here] for the application. We will contact you shortly in game or with the email you have provided.
So the question remains: will you ride with us?
